Some Mercedes won’t cope with 2013 fuel

No problem with 10% Ethanol blend.

Most states in USA mandated use many years ago.
Mainly because of politics as the corn growers produce the ethanol.
USA is probably the largest ethanol producer in the world.
So much so that corn prices have risen drastically as corn was diverted to fuel use.
It is not less expensive and in fact will give a lower MPG.

I've run everything that I own from a 280SL W113 to a CLK63 Black Series. :thumb:

I thought i'd seen this discussed on the US site. Thanks, thats reassuring.

Bear in mind that the injection system for US-spec cars will be different to those for European and Japanese specification Mercedes.

Similar problems in about 1990 when UK moved to Unleaded petrol, at that time Esso produced a booklet showing which cars would be OK, which cars would need adjustment and which would need modification.
Maybe one of the major petrol suppliers will do the same this time.
