Speeding tickets for my car. But it wasn't me.

"These kind of threads are pathetic"

I opened the thread, DM, so it seemed aimed at me. I may have misinterpreted your post - apologies if that's the case.

Your thread was perfectly reasonable and legitimate, but we then traveled into a parallel Universe somewhere debating people being retested and how that would have helped the poor chap spot the speed cameras.
It was destined to be another 40 pages of theoretical drivel.

It would be nice to have some threads where we stick to actually talking about facts and real situations (which yours was).

Why do some people feel the need to have political threads about nothing but theory and conjecture?

Thread resurrection.

I can't blame anyone other than myself this time for the brown envelope I received this morning. 38mph at 06.57 on an A road.

£100 and 3pp, or £85 and do the course. Doesn't take much figuring out.

(Might not tell Mrs TDE1, as I still so enjoy pontificating about when she got caught.)

I am a licenced London black cab driver. I pay £16 a month for legal insurance against motoring convictions.

What I can tell you is this. Get a motoring solicitor, agree to pay the fines without dispute or court time and they will waive the points. The system is totally corrupt, its about money, nobody gives a fig about the points. So many people have foreign licences these days and don't collect points anyway.

As long as you pay without question you can evade the points every time

Cheers Bernie. As they offered me the course, I'll take it to keep my Licence point-free, and its the cheaper option. I have Legal Expenses insurance, but I'm sure mine wouldn't cover me for this.

I would give them a ring, but I was speeding and the course might be good.

(Was a bit peed off at the van being on a road which isn't an accident black spot. It's on a wide, well surfaced road, with an incline that would get you 20mph in neutral, but hey ho!).

Anywhere local to us?

Noticed a lot of the sneaky camera bikes around worcs. To be fair doesn't bother me much as they are generally 30 zones and present for good reason.
