Hi People,
It's been a while since I have posted here. So bare with me.
I have a 2001 311 LWB Sprinter, every time reverse is selected it pops a fuse in the steering column for the reverse lights. ( not sure which number off hand)
So I checked bulbs, they are all working fine. Suspicious of water possibly shorting it out in one of the rear light clusters, I removed dried and replaced and it still popped that fuse as soon as reverse was selected.
Next I unplugged the lead running into the gear box to try and narrow the fault down to a location.
Again the fuse still pops, so now I'm aware that problem is between the fuse box and the gear box. Possibly a shorting earth? A poorly corroded or loose wire?
Essentially my question is where it the best place to start? Where is the earthing location for the fuse box?
The Van is due in France at the end of next week, and I don't want to start tearing apart the dash not knowing in which direction I'm looking.
I could leave it and hope for the best, but those bloody french traffic police.
Any help or advice would be greatly received. Has anyone had similar problem?
Thanks in advance.
