I had new pads and discs fitted all round on my 1995 C180 but perhaps it's because of the dry weather I now have a more than occasional squeaking which is heard at low speed until I tweak the brake pedal and it immediately stops. Do you think this will be fixed with copper grease on the back of the pads (though I'm sure they had some when new) or could it be something more sinister? It's a definite squeak and not a squeal.

Thanks

Ed

They may not have been bedded in properly hence the sound..??

If you use the brakes heavily whils't still bedding in then the discs can get scored, the pads might need removing and rubbing down a thin layer.

Thanks for this but I'm afraid I was specific enough. I had the pads fitted last November and this squeaking has just begun happening. I'm sure it's been exacerbated by the dry weather which is why I've started noticing it.

I've had a similar problem in the past, went back to fitters who put a new set of pads on for me(FOC) which cured the problem
