Star Mods - Gutted!

What does the change actually do then? (confused by the "broken foglight look" comment) :o
I forget the exact spec's for speeds and angles but basically if you are moving below a certain speed and the steering wheel is turned more than a preset angle the car activates the fog lamp on the side of the car you are turning toward.

It's meant to help illuminate the corner but obviously because of how it functions you get a lot of comments on only having one fog light working and it can get embarrassing.

Edit - Malc got a reply up first i see

The relevant fog light illuminates when the indicators are set. Also when reversing the opposite light comes on.
The fog lights fade off rather than go out

Were cornering lights an option on your model/year?
In all honesty I don't know. I will rely on the knowledge of the masses on that one. Can I open that question up to the forum? Car is a 2004 '04 plate (pre facelift) model.

Simon

I 'm not sure they were an option but I really wouldn't lose sleep over it -I paid to have them deactivated!

Took the car down to the local indie for some star mods-
1. Adaptive cornering
2. Gallons left
3. Park assist mirror
4. tyre pressure monitor
5. KPH replaced with temp

Yours is pre-facelift - so although there is menus about cornering lights, they may not work (my SL is same)
Gallons left almost certainly can be done
Park assist mirror requires memory mirrors (to be able to put them back to where they were), which in UK spec means memory seats
TPM (or more accurately) 'tyre pressure loss warner' is a facelift thing I think. TPM is the system with sensors, tplw uses the ABS sensors to detect a slowing wheel
UK mode can be switched off on pre-facelift

Ahh, so as I see it then I have 2 choices.....
1. get the only 2 mods available as above or....
2. Get a new car!!

Can this mod be done on any fairly recent car. I have a 53 plate E320 Cdi with Bi xenons.

I have all the features activated, but not the foglight when cornering as this i did not like!
some features work and some dont (autofolding), i have yet to fit my new front sam from a facelift model and i should be able to have full fuctionality!

Is your car a pre facelift model? What have you had activated so far?

my car is a pre-facelift, so far i have activated:
fuel tank content
remaining milage
kph to temp (can select what to display in main screen)
digital speed reading
auto folding (not functioning have to install new sam unit)
memory mirrors
auto dipping (both sides -installed german fully loaded dirvers mirror frame)
conering lights (not functioning have to install new sam unit)
key dependant settings
easy entry/exit
and may add trye pressure monitor depending on cost.

What is involved in the new sam then? Is it an expensive and complicated job?

Front SAM for my car is approx £250

They are quite reasonable cost wise considering the function they perform.
