Can this mod be done on any fairly recent car. I have a 53 plate E320 Cdi with Bi xenons.

A new front SAM is an easy part to fit, and resonably priced, you can get one cheap from a breakers yard as it not a fast selling item, i got mine for £30 but make sure its from a facelift model. it will require some programming on the star but nothing too difficult and you should be able to have all the newer modis and programming available.

Not bad. Is it as simple as unplug, remove, put new one in place and then re attach to the car? Or is there more to it?

nope read my thread above, the sam will work, plug and play but some fuction will work and some will not and some functions will work in a strange manner, it needs to be configured o your car so that your current options work and enable newer features to be activated to work.

the cornering lights are crap , don't waste your money getting them working. Its only going to cost extra bulbs when they are going on and off all the time!

I find them quite good, probaly would be even better with the correct foglamp lenses for this function.
