Steering wheel - Wood or AMG?

Original is Wood but not quite a perfect match to the rest of the wood in the car..

This just arrived, was for my W123, but now thinking may go well in the SEC?

Note that i have now changed the Gear Knob to a Wooden One..

keep the wooden one i think they look much nicer i have one in my 190 so i am a bit biased

Wood looks class, but I am also bias having a wooden steering wheel on my S class.

Part wood wheels are nice - all wood looks like you're piloting a boat. I voted for the AMG one for some contrast.

I normally have a wooden wheel where possible, and the colour did not match on my SAAB, it does not match on my V70R and the same on my 129 that I had.

You must leave it as is.

hmmm well 7-3 so far... i think i may try this one in the W123 then...

i could always swap later...

and to add one more to the score, my brother has just walked in and gone "what is that ugly steering wheel for?!!" - what does he know eh..

The wood one is very tacky IMO. I have one on my CE and its going to be removed. It does not suit the car one little bit, but thats my opinion.

Wood! The AMG would look silly in there. Doesn't match the interior at all.

I prefer the part wood part leather - that's coz that's what I have - but the black would just look wrong.

Well just tried the AMG on the W123 and i cant see any of the dials with it on!!! and the column is not adjustable on a W123..

so it either goes on the SEC or ebay!! i may try it at the weekend to see how it looks... i mean this is the one they sold originally for the W126..

it would be a shame to sell it on as they are like rocking horse poo and this one is like new..

im not normally a fan of the wooden ones, but it suits the car in your case and matches pretty well even if not exact.

it was expensive mate... i missed one on ebay that went for EUR 270.. about 10 mins later this chap listed one with a BIN of EUR 250.. so bought it... with shipping it stands me at £210.. however im still not convinced and probably wont rest until ive tried it on the SEC for a bit..

I voted for the AMG one, especially as its so rare. I personally love Wood & Leather wheels, I think Nav has one on his SEC? I've got one on the W203 (although the W203/W209 wood leather wheel never looked as nice as the proper wood/leather wheel like we have on the W220 & W163). I just don't like all wood wheels.

Nav has a later wheel with an airbag in it...its an option, but am trying to AMG the car as much as i can without going OTT...

like i say, they only come up once in a blue moon and a lot of the time they are in taiwan or somewhere silly... i have seen some go for well over EUR 300...

Ive gone for the AMG aswell, suits the SEC in an old skool way IMO.
