The cat D was someone reversed into it. New bumper and bonnet. That was it. With paperwork to back it up. Brakes rear were binding on MOT and he had the calipers changed. In the summer he had a new condenser fitted for the air con. He’s loved owning it.one owner since 2015, but that's the seller, so you can dig the detail directly with them

Oh my god! HUGE help! I was getting very bogged down with it and some great cars were highlighted. I know it took everyone time searching and looking at MOT info… but thanks to all of that I’ve found the needle in the haystack. Low miles, owned by an older gent for years. Serviced every year and maintained well… Plus that colour! AND very close by so no travelling about! All the stars aligned and I know it’s a lot of car for the money. Obviously, we have to see how it goes, but it’s a really positive thing! Thank you everyone!

Bonus is that's local (ish) as well no not a major job to get it which must be a weight (and cost) off of your mind.

I’ve had a few Mercedes, but never an E. Always wanted one and well now I’ve got one. I know it’s not new or come with all things cars come with now, but I will look after it just as if it was. No more searching wahooooo!

Do check gearbox oil last change, and get that done. For cost estimate, PCS in Horndean were around mid £200s a couple of years ago when I got mine done. Very very trusted garage.
Also, you might be able to get a forum member to do a code scan, or you could pay PCS for an inspection and fault finding/diagnosis, which would give peace of mind. There might be nearer independent specialists to hand.

Thank you so much. I honestly don’t know what to say. It’s been difficult to deal with and none of you owe me a thing. Everyone still helped. You don’t see it much these days. My favourite kind of seller - an elderly gent who loved the car and probably could see it would be going to a new owner who appreciates it and will love it too. 
Have you got a local Indy who'll give it a good once-over? Hopefully, you'll have a bit left in the budget for anything that comes up. I had all my brake pipes replaced this year, it's normal for old cars. I hope you have better luck with this one!

From a quick search on Autotrader if it wasn't a categorised car then the market value would be 4-5 grand. So at 2 grand or below i think it is an absolute bargain
