Stolen c63 amg essex

Sorry if im stating the obvious, but what they do is steal the car. Leave it parked up for a few hours with the battery disconnected. They know it takes a few hours for the tracker battery to die down.
Also in this time if the police show up for it, they dont get caught.

After waiting they will then rip the car apart for the tracker, bin it and then drive off again.

If its not been found by now then, im sorry, but I doubt it will be.

I guess anything is possible but I wouldnt give up hope, (unless the hope is the car doesnt come back), mine went missing for two weeks and found parked up in Peckham, same MO really, broke in, nicked keys, buggered off.....We now have added cameras, notifiable alarm and a Rhino Barrier at the end of the drive....hopefully never again..

Sorry I can't help with the car. We're having CCTV installed, got a good deal on a HD 1080P IP camera system.
I can give the details to anyone interested. It's not being installed until next Wednesday so can't comment on performance 'til then.

Hope the C63 is found safe and well

Surely a house alarm with the ground floor zone active at night would prevent this type of theft?

CCTV is a waste of funds, a hoodie/scarf renders it useless.

Yup, it would. Had our keypad not gone faulty after a power cut on Sunday night and if the bloke to fix turned up on Monday when I reported it, it would have been on. He has since been and it's all fixed but talk about things coming together for a perfect storm!

Just back Ricky is there anything else I can do to help let me know. I had a great 9 months with that car and I hope you get the outcome you want.

Best Justin

car theft is getting rather sophisticated too with thief's using electronic devices etc to open cars and start them. Not sure how tech works but scary.

Thanks Justin. The fact that you saw this post (thanks again Don) has made a material difference to the outcome that would have resulted without the tracker info. I'll post a public update when things have moved on but the almost certain outcome is a lost car. Not something I'm the least bit surprised about if that is the final outcome. I'm not sure I would be happy with the car back now anyway as I can imagine how it has been abused. I too loved it, how can you not love those cars :-).

Cheers
Rick

I sure hope you recoup the total off insurance, I hate to see people left out of pocket, especially on high value items.

Does that not seem a very slight coincidence? Or is that just me? Food for thought, not had anybody working at the house or the alarm guy maybe working with them?
This stuff does happen

It does and its ignorance to assume otherwise, we like to think the World is lovely and people are all good. I always keep an open mind even with those I tend to trust.

The best way to be, too many people willing to backstab these days, let's hope it's not something sinister but it does sound awfully fishy!

Just got to say I love it when the forum works positively like this. Its does it more than we think.

Convenient, I would say, but there are many variables at play. This though is interesting.

Folks - I hear what you are saying but I can rule it out on this occasion as the alarm guy was a local independent who only knew my mobile number until he phoned me to get the address, which was ultimately after the event. I've no doubt that sort of thing does go on though.

Unfortunately nothing much as yet, looks like its a lost cause (not surprisingly!). I won't leave everybody in the dark once I have a final outcome as giving a full update is the least I can do after everybody's help and support. :-)

I feel your pain, nothing worse having someone steal from you. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear about this :(.

Much as I love my car, I don't think I'd want it back after it had been scroted, unless it was untouched.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly! Who knows how it's been treated - the saying 'drive it like you stole it' didn't come about for nothing!!!
