Stunning w124 500E vs CLS 63 AMG on Autocar website

Talbir that is one great looking E500. And I was also surprised of how close it stood to the CLS 63 at the drag race. I mean the 63 would pull away the higher the speed got but again solid performance from yours. In terms of the exhaust is it just a back box, or have you changed cats etc? Sounds like it frees the engine.

It was a really interesting day. I got to drive the camera car - a W124 estate, appropriately enough - with a camera man hanging out of the back shooting some of the road sequences. We were at Longcross, home of the infamous "Snake" handling circuit and a large oval banked high-speed track

If you want to drive the Snake join a car club and get an entry for a Sprint there - great fun, quite scary and very educational

Longcross is close to London it gets lots of use for magazine shoots. Autocar magazine were driving & snapping for another test at the same time. If you look at the background of many car magazine shoots you'll see the same trees, pave & circuit in all of them...

The 500E impressed everyone present and Talbir was kind enough to let me have a few minutes behind the wheel

If you've never met Talbir you need to know he's one of the nicest, most genuine people you'll ever meet and is a good custodian of his car collection

No, cats are still on the car, but centre box is remove and replaced with y-pipe.

I will force a rematch once my 6.3 M119 is in this 500E !
