This has reminded me of the roof light/switch console in the front of my S211.

I understand that there is a 'sniffer' for the interior temperature sensing in there. Is this true? If so, is it possible to easily dislodge the console from the headlining so I can look to see if it needs cleaning?

I remember from previous cars with a similar arrangement, these things can clog up completely with dust and start to give less than perfect feedback.

To remove the console

Pop off the cover between the mirror and light

Then look into the opening between the light and mirror , theres a black button on either side of the light part

Press these buttons in wards and pull down on the light , this will release the front clips , the rear clips will release as the front is lowered

Nice one, Shorty! Many thanks. It's easy when you know how!

Actually, it was quite clean in there, apart from some detritus which looks to have dropped down from the sunroof motor area. No clods of dust to be seen though, happily.

Thanks again! :thumb:

Been out for a run. It has made a difference. I blew into the unit around the aperture where it sucks in air, but I didn't see huge clods of dust flying out. But I must have shifted something though, because the interior temp has definitely gone down. I know there's such a thing as placebo, and it has been a warm day, but the cold air didn't 'bite' as much before - if you follow me?
