Tax disc removal

After 41 years of driving I was unaware there was a 6'' rule.

The holder is staying put. After 50 years of living with a tax disc, the divorce would be too painful . Any suggestions about what could be substituted in the holder?

Why bother expending the time and energy removing the disks? Min will be forever displaying xx-xx-2015. having said that, I saw one a week a go tat should be removed on safety grounds. it was placed in the centre f the passenger side of the windscreen. Which part of the rule to place it 6" of the n/s of the windscreen edge do you think the driver didn't understand? All of it...

It would be quicker to remove your tax disc holder than it has taken to engage with this thread... C'mon - it's clean screen time!

I've put middle finger up at the government - I've removed my windscreen and left the tax disc where it was.

Nearly as good as hanging a satnav right in front of the driver's face. I see that all the time now.

After some 5 years of my aluminium tax disc holder being in place, my car rejected it.
I went into the garage a couple of days before the 1st Oct to find that the tax disc holder had fallen off the windscreen and was sitting on the dash.

My car seemed to know it could rid itself of this pointless documentation and saved me the trouble of removing it.

I have now put the tax disc holder in the kitchen for now.

One of my glass-front kitchen cupboards is taxed until next may. At a competitive price of £500.

I didn't even notice the discs were missing from our cars, (courtesy of my son removing them) until it was pointed out to me by a neighbor

I have removed the tax disc from my windscreen. Have you? If not, why not?

But do you keep looking over to the left at the empty space?

Can't be bothered myself. Will probably do both cars in February when the estate runs out. I've got 2 discs in both because I need to display my work car parking pass. Will probably just move it into the original tax disc holder.

I've just moved the work parking permit to mine so it looks better but I hate having anything stuck to it fullstop.
