Terminal Velocity 2005 - 20th August

Quick update, will post more later including the pics and video's.

I was quite supprised, I managed to hold my own very well! :D

I matched, and on quite a few occasions beat the Porsche Turbo's, however the Tuned 'Ruf' Porsches were a bit different! I was worried when I turned up and all the Porsche Turbo owners were discussing the extra large turbo's they had installed, boost pressure and upgrades to 580bhp!! Pah! :D

All the Ferrari's (F40 never turned up), including the new 612 Scagaletti were eaten by a certain CL55 :D :D

M3's were also not a problem, and I outrun a couple of Vipers (not all) too, upto 170mph, however only by a very small margin.

I managed 184mph on the speedo, 177 on the timing equipment.
Quarter Mile was 12.8sec, at 116mph

Also met Angus with his SL65 AMG, who managed a 12.29 quarter mile, and 189 top speed, so was quite pleased again, as I though the extra power of the '65 bi-turbo would kill me, but not by a great margin.

Pics and Vids to follow....

Oh, and just for Sp!ke, :D the top speed of the day was 207.9 mph, by a Viper with 1000BHP, followed by a Sierra (yes, a Ford sierra) Cosworth at 207.1 mph (800bhp from a 2.0l engine !!!!! )

Sounds like a cracking day Maff, cant wait for the vid.

They are some serious outputs for that Viper and the especially the Cossie.

Pleased you ate the M3s with ease, it gives you a warm feeling when that happens. The drivers probably thought "look at that Young Lad in Daddy's Mercedes". The joke's on them today though! :)

Sounds like the MB flag doesn't need to fly at half mast today. :D :D

Annie says you don't impress her - The Dolomite runs a standing quarter in 21 seconds and will do 95 mph flat out and it only cost her £200 :D

Then the "girl maths" started and it all got a bit confusing but roughly translated it works out that because her car is only half as slow as yours and yours cost far more than twice as much as hers then that means her car is better than yours

I'll let you debate that one with her over a few beers :)

Glad you had a good day and the figures are impressive - well done

Andy

Congratulations Maff,
Did all the competitors drive to the event?

Aah Andy

Can girls maths cope with twice the speed needing eight times the power though? ;)

apparently (and I quote) that's "just boring man stuff" :)

please do not try and confuse logic, reason or even common sense with girl maths. :D

Would have loved to have gone, with all tht top-end serious stuff there, but it would have worked out expensive for me I think when I took into account all the travel + accom. Maybe next year I'll plan it better.

(I hit my own termin veloc ystrdy of 55km/h biking to Market Rasen if that counts...)

Here are some pics and video's of the event.
Video's are a bit woobly! Also let me know if they dont play back, as i've never converted video's to web format before.
