Tesco Petrol - Momentum or not?

Mrs W obtained money off vouchers - 5p per litre - for Tesco petrol recently so took advantage this morning and got the above for the same cost as their standard fuel.

Just wondering what the Forum thought of it, if anything, compared to 'other' premium brands?

Works well in my MR2 turbo and Audi S3 (turbo). Not sure what it would to cars without turbos and/or ECU's that can quickly adapt to it??

Why not just get 5p off the "normal" tesco fuel?
5 p x 60 ltr = £3.00 per fill.
Asda is 128.7p unleaded WITHOUT any vouchers.

My understanding is that there is no benefit in using petrol that has more RON than recommended by the manufacturer.
Therefore 95 for my SL......and my other cars for that matter.

It will make no difference to your car as it is not set up for the higher rating.

fuel is too much as it is.... i dont use pump fuels but when i do i seek out the cheapest and put the standard stuff in.....

I always use Momentum as there is only a small handful of beer tokens difference compared to 95.

I didn't notice any difference between 95 and 99 in my previous Saab and that wanted 97 or 98 I think.

I've not tried 95 in the Merc as I didn't buy the car for economy but there doesn't seem to be any difference between VPower and Momentum.

However, I would happily use 95 if that's what the manufacturer suggested.

Shell comes out on top I wont put anything else in my Nissan.
Had to use BP in an emergency once and could not beleive the amount of det I got. I had to drive like Miss Daisy till I found a shell staion where I brim filled it to dilute it as much as possible.

I live near Salisbury and have used the local Tesco for fueling my MB and previous Saab 9-5 as well as many other cars over several years of living here. There has never been an issue with any car when using petrol from here.

I can only assume that your "logic" is of the same standard as your spelling, grammar and syntax

Actually, it is as I want to brim the tank. I did £119 once.

Obviously I'd prefer £50 to fill it...

Hmm.. Slightly negates the idea of going to the filling station as infrequently as possible.

MEN are not supposed to even consider refuelling until the the car is running on nothing but fumes.....even then to cross the carriageway for fuel is to have chickened out.
I am sure it is written somewhere....maybe one of the Commandments.

You can't beat that point where your knackers and the icy wind blowing around the forecourt are 'at one'.

I wish Tesco would raise the 'pay at the pump' amount.

I think our one is £80 which means I've still £19 or so to go in.

Returning to OP's question - I use Moventum in my 968 when I have a Tesco voucher, and VPower when I don't. I do not notice any difference in performance or economy between the 2 brands. I have, however, noticed an improvement in economy - I switched from 95 RON to 99 RON when I had the Promax 7100 chip installed (and found out, to my surprise, that the car had a Superchip rather than the standard ECU chip!). I reckon I'm getting about 3mpg more with the super unleaded.
