Just spotted this thread. Hope you all enjoy your trip. I am off for a 3 night tour tomorrow. I have never seen the Applecross road but I have heard plenty and its the reason for the route. Travelling from Aberdeen via Deeside to Braemar and over Glenshee, stopping in Pitlochry. Glen Coe and Road to the Isles to Mallaig with a stop in Skye. Skye, Applecross road :) Torridon and on to Inverness, down A9 and stop in Grantown on Spey. Home via Tomintoul and Strathdon. C350 should be run in by the end of the trip :)

Pitlochary you want to head to Aberfeldy, then to Creiff over the Sma Glen, then follow the A85 to Comrie, St Fillans and Lochearn head, turn right up the A84 and follow the road to it becomes the A82 and aim for Ft William.

If you have time turn off the A82 at Glen Etive. Its a great glen.

After this, hit Ballahulish and drive to Kinlochleven, this is one of my favouite driving roads and the views are awesome.

Agree re road to the Isles, but its there and back the same way, so on the way to Mallaig, go via Strontian one way and the main way the other.

A87 to Kyle is a cracker and staying on Skye is ace. Your final day looks on the money too.

Doing most of those roads next weekend from home to Luing through Fort William and back via Crianlarich Crieff Dunkeld then up North.

Hey Pete (and you Mr Baker)..
I managed to nab a room at the same place as you two on the Saturday...
It seems I have the last room..:bannana:

that's strange .. they were full when I called last week

Anybody who has not yet booked for the Friday or Sunday night, please be advised that Premier Inn Dumbarton was about twice the price of Milngavie, but as at 22:27hrs today the Dumbarton price has reduced.
I have just booked 3 nights (non-refundable) for £122.

If you wish to book, perhaps now is the time to do it.

3 Nights, thought you were doing a 1 day drive in Scotland and back darn sarf for Sunday. You got a good price for the room.

Start point is Duck Bay Marina Hotel, 930am.

Hi Steve,
I will only be joining you for the Saturday (and am looking forward to it) - With 2 slipped discs, one arthritic hip and one artificial hip I shall need the Sunday to rest up ready for the drive home on Monday.
It is a good price, less than half of what it was last week, and about the same price as Milngavie - hence I thought it worth the post.

I'm looking forward to seeing your new C class, you should find it fun to drive.

it's this weekend!!!

who is at Milngavie Premier Inn on Fri (31 Aug) night?

I expect to arrive around 11pm (having left London at 3pm).

The wife and I are at the Premier Inn at Dumbarton, we expect to arrive between 8pm and 9pm.
