Whatever your views on Facebook, the film about how it came about is on tomorrow.

Channel 4
9.00pm

You don't need to be a FB fan - it's a great (Oscar winning) film in it's own right.

Just a heads up :thumb:.

And it's got Justin Timberlake in it too. Could you ask for anymore ?

I saw it at pictures when it first came out , and in my opinion I found it really disappointing , I nearly fell asleep , but everyones different and its just my opinion , by the way on the subject of films I can recommend two ive seen lately , end of watch and the red tails both I thought were really good .

I was in the pub last night with my pal, his 24 year old daughter and her boyfriend. The two younger ones spent most of the night on their mobile phones, "facebooking" (a new verb?) their "friends" and ignoring those present. Who says facebook is a social network? I'd say it can be just the opposite, wouldn't you?

I can't disagree - however, the story of how it came about is very interesting.

Never been on facebook and never will but i watched the film in phuket when it came out as there was nothing else on and it was really good!

Social networking is just progress, I can recall my Dad saying he'd never have a TV to pick up anything other than BBC, never have colour, never holiday abroad, never use the internet, never have Sky...and guess what...

He'd have been able to stick to his guns if he'd have moved to Lancashire.

I have nothing against facebook but i can guarantee you that i won't be using it, i spend too much time talking sh1t on here as it is;)

I've never quite grasped the fascination of telling the world that you have just eaten a burger then a few minutes later that you are scratching your nose etc etc.

I also like to give blow-by-blow accounts of my most impressive bowel movements.

I am on Facebook - we use it as a communication tool for some of our work. By its not really very effective. A lot of what you see is complete drivel, with people informing the world about aspects of their lives I'd rather not know. But... If you have someone applying for a job with you, it might be an idea to check it out, to see how they present themselves. Can be very revealing (though I have to say I've not seen anything that would put me off - yet!).

I agree with comments about people facebooking when they are supposedly 'socialising' with company who are actually present. Urgent calls, fine. But facebooking ? Don't think so.
