Transmission jerk on 5 speed auto - torque converter?

Sorry to hear it Billy. Hopefully it will be sorted quickly so you can start enjoying your car.

For the benefit of others with the "jerk": I don't recall a C32 AMG without the jerk, so it's normal. It's irritating but it doesn't get worse, and eventually you don't notice it. Symptoms get worse with Glycol contamination and so if it feels like there's something wrong, and more severe than a minor "jerk" get it checked by an MB or automatic transmission specialist,.

Wish I knew about these before I would have got Audi s4 as it was a toss up between the 2 :( only had car 1 month ish

Not specific to this problem but my w208 developed a rear engine oil seal leak earlier this year and there was some transmission fliud leaking from the bearbox gasket. The gear change seemed sluggish but had nothing to compare with so perhpa didn't notice. Anyway the point, I took it to Crewe Engines after some useful conversations with Tony Thomas there. They did the engine seal and serviced the gearbox, on the way they changed the prop shaft doughnuts at each end because they were perrished. All in £800.

The gearbox worked noticably better after the work and both oil leaks were solved. Tiptronic also worked v much more rapidly.

Might not be of use but I would recommend a caht with Tony if you want some advice. Crewe Engines are as the name suggests in Crewe Theior telephone number is 01270 526333.

I spoke with them via e-mail and admitted they had fault with a certain batch....

I must have repaired at least 40 so far maybe more!!

To be sure get the atf tested.
