ml 270 brabus d4,
hi all.

have been looking at some old posts. i have a hissing/whistling noise coming from my turbo/air box area on my 2001 ml 270 brabus (d4) i was told it could be something like the bypass valve or something ? it retuns the unwanted boost back into the exhaust when its not needed ? it makes the noise around 1800 - 2200 RPM. normally under all conditions.
any ideas ? some have said about hoses and spooling ?does anyone know these engines well and know where to look ?
thanks

Alomst certainly either a hose or a split intercooler, follow the hoses from the turbo to the intercooler then to the inlet manifold, leak ussually indicated by a slight oil stain.

Spooling just means spinning ie spooling the turbo up as in putting it under load and making it do some serious work this is also when the air leak will be most obvious.
