Tyre choice for a E55K W211
I had a pair of Cheap rear 'Fullrun' tyres fitted to my E55 W211 , they have almost 3/4 tread left on them after 4 months but one of them has a large spilt on the inner wall of the tyre, it will be replace tomorrow under warranty but I get the feeling that with 469BHP on the back wheels it's an issue with the performance of the tyre . they are ZR rated!!. I expect that I have been advanced wrong and need to spend some hard earned cash on some better tyres. any ideas anyone ?

what tyres are on the front?

match the rears to them if they are decent?

ive never had good exp with cheap tyres, i always use branded tyres, if you cant afford new, try good part worns!

Mine has Maxxis tyres which are shyte also - rears are 2mm left now.

I am considering either Michelin PS2s or Continental Sport Conti 3s.

I suspect I will go with the Michelin though as I wasn't too keen on the Contis on my Saab 9-5 in the end - except that is a different animal altogether hence why not totally ruled out.

Dunlop and Conti are listed inside the petrol flap as MO.

I don't mind spending the money but I was wrongly advised that they would be ok. (I think) fronts are Pirelli PZero Rosso

Pirellis will wear very quick, but are a great tyre, michelins are my favourite, and i have them on both sets of wheels.

Thanks Alps, will check Michelins out tomorrow sounds like a good option. I will get this tyre replacement sorted under warranty and then replace both VERY SOON. I have never experienced a ripped tyre like that before.
Cheers
Dave

Read very good reviews on the new michellin super sports but they are pricey. Otherwise pilot sports 2 are great

fyi; Michelin Pilot 2`s are actually suppossed to be better than pilot sport 3`s

that's true, Michelin Pilot Super Sport is the new Pilot Sport 2.

Pilot Sport 3 is not the same kind of ultra high performance tyre as PS2 and PSS.
