Upgrade from C63 non-S to S: what’s it worth?

The sports seats do look fantastic though.

As pointed out already, life is too short to not drive the car you really want. As long as you can comfortably afford the car you really want then the worst that can happen is that it isn’t as good as you hoped - or the seats don’t suit you - in which case sell it and buy the car you then really want.

Go and drive it and decide from there.

There is an element of that which I can acknowledge, yes - but on the other hand there is also a “grass isn’t always greener” thing which is staying my hand. I think if I’d heard a generally positive endorsement of the seats in particular, I’d have bought it already.
But … for now …. I’m gonna stick, not twist.

Buy the ‘S’. If you don’t get on well with the seats, I’ll swap them for mine. It’s a C Class AMG (Line) (non S) I’m very generous I know. You're Welcome!

Second option would be the seats out of my Vito. They’re Leatherette don’t ya know!!!

I've very comfortably lived with a couple of sets of performance seats and loved them each time. I found them extremely comfortable and found a perfect position for short and long journeys, spirited driving and plodding along. They offered me a snug fit and held me in position every time. For me they are a great seat, but I can understand the opinions of others who may be of different build to me. IMO looks wise they are hands down the better of the two options............................but I'm so disappointed they aren't offered with the option of distronic, for that reason and that reason only my next AMG will have comfort seats (I think).

I understand your original question wasn't directed at performance seats, but what is it worth to switch from non S to S. Again, I believe your decision is already made and the price difference (of £11k to ~£6k) isn't worth it in your opinion and that is all that counts. If your next car is going to be a 205 C63 IMO it should be a C63s with or without the performance seats at whatever the market value is at the time.

FWIW I would be willing to pay ~£3k, no more than £4k for a like for like S vs non S C63, but there again I wouldn't be in your position in the first place as I would have bought an S version from the off.

Just to let you know, you can get both distronic and performance seats in the C63S (assuming you're UK, not sure about other regions)

Yes, UK market.
That certainly wasn't the case for both 205 and 213. I factory ordered both of these cars and distronic wasn't available when opting for performance seats.
Do you know if this was an option for the final edition only or prior to that?

Ah, ok yes I think I seem to remember there was a period when you couldn't have both. Never understood the reason why and I think it was the same in the E63S for a while.

Final edition has both, but also 2022/23 non-final edition can have both.

My 2018 c63s had both performance seats and driver assistance pack but it was an estate , maybe its different for other body styles , I specced the car myself. Maybe you had a lazy dealer

My 205 C63s (65 plate) and 213 E63s (67 plate) were both Edition 1's and didn't have the option of distronic and performance seats. Prior to ordering both of these cars I asked if ordering a non Edition 1 would have the option of both distronic and performance seats and the answer was 'no' on both occasions. If I'm remembering correctly I was told it was something to do with extra air bags, but don't quote me on that. I never understood the reason, but that was definitely the case and has been discussed on here before.
I'm surprised (and glad) to hear your 2018 car had both options.

Thanks, certainly in 2017 when i started looking, this was never an issue, perhaps they couldnt accommodate this on very early models eg 2015 for the C and 2017 for the E. Here's two other body styles that have both. They will have the gloss merc emblem on the front grill where some of the distronic sensor bits are housed :
