upgrade grills for w202's

any recommendations on a grill upgrade for a 96 c200 sports?.........have seen a carbon-look/chrome grill from usa, has anyone bought one? or know of anywhere else i can buy this type.

I have one I (well Wheelie and Sym technically) sourced from UK eBay, but have never seen one since.

I expect it is the same if not similar to the ones available from the US.

The build of mine is so so - the frame and clips were poor and I used my originals.

Ditto, I was advised against buying a copy and bought an OEM grille, I think it looks great!

I also have an oem grill, my first mod back in October 2001 I think!

I don't think you can beat colour coding the original grille, looks awesome imho and makes the front blend in soo much better.

Doesn't the paint peel in time? I had thought about this mod for mine many many moons ago.

yes, no matter how well you prep it. Mine has been on 2 weeks, and it's already peeling where I pull the latch to release the bonnet, will touch it up quick before it gets worse.

Sucks, but I'm a sucker for looks.

Yep had the same problem with the Brabus i had. The paint around the bonnet opening lever would peel after time.

Great, thanks for the info men,... ill go for the avantgarde oem then, what is the dealer cost of it ?
can you buy just the insert ? or is it one piece.

oh one more thing, the temperature guage doesnt display was it an option on a c200 96 sport ?

I dont know if they still have it but Medway Brabus had the mb grill in their display a while ago so they might be worth a try. The Grill is an insert to fit into your existing frame. Cost £150 ish I seem to remember!
