Hi all,

bought 1 32gb usb memory stick for backing up some movie files.

I copied 3 files of about 4gb each (so 12 gb total) but when I try to copy another 4 gb fiel it tells me it is full.

When I show the properties of the stick, it still shows 19gb free.

I have tried "formatting" the stick but still the same.

Using Windows 7 and the files are .iso (DVD backup) files.

Thanks

You would need to format the drive as NTFS if you want to store files larger than 4GB. It could be that the file you are attempting to copy is just over the 4GB limit on Fat32 file systems.

Thanks for your reply - now works perfectly.

be careful to unplug your memory stick from your PC when you are not using. they are formatted using Fat32 for a reason. NTFS system will continuously access it even when you are not using thus lowering the lifespan of the memory

might be a good idea to get some removable 2.5" HDD
