I am looking to replace the standard steel wheels on my newly acquired W639 Vito. It currently wears 16" wheels with 195/65 tyres. I would be looking to replace them with genuine Mercedes alloys of the same size with slightly wider tyres (205/65) and van rated.

I believe the PCD size is 5 x 112 and most Mercedes alloys are of this size. The only issue is the offset. I have seen a number of Vito's on the road and a few of them have ML alloys and I have even seen one from a C Class.

I think the standard offset on the Vito is ET50. What tolerances can I limit myself to without the need of messing about with spacers etc. I have seen a set for sale with an ET43 offset which may do the trick ?

Thanks guys.

The standard Vito 16" alloys are 16x6.5" ET60 with 205/65 tyres.

The factory 17s mine has are 17x7" ET56 with 225/55.

I would be very careful with insurance - many companies will not cover the vehicle if you change the wheels from factory standard, even if you fit ones specifically intended for the 639 (as accessories). Most people I've spoken to with non-standard wheels fitted have chosen not to declare them

Thanks for the feedback chaps.

The steel wheels are so ugly and plain. I even contemplated putting the standard Mercedes wheel trims on but at around £60 a pop from the dealer it's a laugh !

Yes the insurance aspect is a little concerning but the way car insurance is spiralling at the moment it is putting people off. I've seen several Vito's (new & old) with different styles of Mercedes alloys and it would be quite interesting to know how many have been declared or not !

I would happily have paid a bit extra on my insurance (I wanted to put AMGs on our Vito), but was told "no cover" :(
