Hi Gents,

A few of you have been before, just to let you know I have a Vmax200 top speed event later this month at Bruntingthorpe Proving ground and you'd be welcome to attend.

Its 2 miles of runway to Vmax your car, laser traps at the end to record and display your speed.

Some great twisties to enjoy on the way back.

Plenty of runs available, photography and video ay the event. Full safety and fire crew in attendance as always.

Please drop me a line to [email protected] marking the subject VmaxQS and giving your name and car details.

Much appreciated and thanks for reading.

Regards all,

Craig

Can I spectate?

Despite being re-restricted to 300kph (186mph) I'm not sure I'd want to run this time.

Hi Craig,

Just out of interest, are there any results for Deutschemax and will they appear in the 'Previous Events' section on the vmax200.com site?

Cheers,

John.

They don't allow spectators but each car can have 1 driver and 1 passenger, so you just need someone that is going solo to take you as their passenger.

Trouble is, I'd like to attend, but would only want to go in my car - I just don't want to run it.

I've been looking at some videos and am wondering if my limited 155mph anf 0-60 in 6 makes my car too slow for this event. It looks to me like you go down the first straight and then take a turn (no idea at what speed) and then floor it down the two mile straight. Can those who have done it advise me on how likely it is that I'd manage to get to my 155 limit. I only ask as I noticed a C63 maxed at 156mph. Was that because he hit the limit or because he run out of straight? Many thanks

You will hit the limiter on the straight it's 1.5 miles to the typical speed trap/brake point and you have a rolling start. Just looked at some data I had from previous runs and even in my barge I come off the bend at >80mph.

I hit 162 in my C43 with the 55 engine soits possible I think

Just looked at some videos of C350's on the autobahn and it might not be as clear cut as I first thought. It pulls well from 60 - 145 mph but that last 10mph or so takes over 20 secs during which time you would cover more than half the straight.

Craig - I will email you just before the event to see if there are any last minute cancellations I would love to run but I can't commit at this moment as my car may not be ready.

Sav. Could you let me have the link to the video on the autobahn.

I might be wrong but I think thats a Diesel not my petrol version.

I thought yours was a diesel...sorry :o
