VW Test Drive - failed at the first hurdle

I have to say, my experience of VW customer service has been pretty good in the 2yrs I've been an owner, way, way better than my experience of MB customer "service" and build quality. Still not up to the standard of BMW though, which is why from this afternoon the new occupant of my drive is a 335i coupe :bannana:

Looking back though the thread, the doom and gloomers are 4 : 1 up at the moment!

We did own a Polo a few years ago, but I ended up buying it from a dealership about 50 miles away. At my local dealership, I was taken by the arm and led to the door when I asked for a discount! Another one said they didn't do test drives!!

Sounds like you need to buy from a Scottish dealer then

- we got an unaccompanied test drive for as long as we wanted
- we negotiated a discount on the sticker price
- we got decent service both from the sales and support staff

Hey ho, as already suggested, there are good ones and bad ones out there!

call me old-fashioned but I like to call in at a dealers and look round ..... I turn down lots of tests drives because when a see a car in the flesh ... sometimes I feel different about it .....and if its for a business then speak to the leasing manager they do fall over themselves for a deal.......
