Hi all.
Have noticed my light selector knob is illuminated but not the dial. Although if I select the fog lights the separate indicators near the dial come alight.

Is this how it's supposed to be?... can't see what mode I'm selecting in the dark (parking lights, auto, low beam etc)

If not what do I need to do to change it?

Thanks in advance!!

Do think it's strange that they would leave the dial un illuminated?.....
Hmmmm.... Maybe we both got the same bulb popped?

They all do that - I think it's daft!

Thankfully with the "auto" setting you rarely need to touch it!

True, tim.
Thanks for the reassurance!
BTW I am in love with my Merc... only an E280 CDI ( maybe a bit of a zimmerframe compared to some of the stuff on here...) but to me it's Megan fox with hardly any clothes on... Lol

They are, we've had this on here before. Think MB adopt a pseudo 'aircraft' style dash - if you don't need it while driving, it's not lit!

Most people remember the positions on their light switches and even more have them nominally set to 'Auto'!

You're right it is daft. Just a dull glow would do. Its the same in the Unimog too, hardly anything is illuminated in there, trying to adjust the heating controls at night results in something like a scene from Dante's Inferno!

Ha ha yeah, especially as even random things like the AC louvres have illuminated flow control dials!
O well if that's how it's meant to be....
