W124 Estate owners - 230, 280 or 320

Thanks for all your help guys. In the end I think I got lucky.

I bought a 1994, 3 owner, FSH, 320TE with 172k on the clock, serviced at 171k. It's only the 5 seater, with no dog net etc, but that's fine for me, no traction control either, but I don't need it. It has air-con, electric adjustable seats, factory immobiliser c/locking, a mint interior and a CD player. I paid £470 for it. I'm in the process of giving it a full valet to get it tip-top but other than that it's been well looked after mechanically.

Here's hoping we clock up lots of trouble-free miles in 2011 and beyond.

I used to be a bit sniffy about the four-cylinder cars but they have grown on me recently. A recent E200 was a bit of a revelation - smoother than recent E220s I've driven and very willing

Sure, the fours are noisier and less satisfying but the cars feel lighter on their feet (there is 100Kg less in front of the front axle) and they are more economical

sounds a great deal at that price. looking forward to some pics :thumb:

very nice and very cheap be careful with 4matic as parts not readily avail

320 280 have wiring loom problem so watch out for it

300 24v careful with gearbox problems

300 te is a good powerful workhorse or if u r like e36 but u need ton on money

or e 300 24v diesel facelift model is also good, i do prefer the older non 24v version diesel as it is bullet proof engine

with good later 300 diesel estates also priced like ming vases :)

As the supply of good 6 cylinder models continues to dry up more and more people will consider the "inferior" 4 cylinders as still preferable to the other options.
