Hi guys. Just a quick one here.

This has bugged me since I got my car. The Center dash vents blow ice cold air. Where as the outer ones seem to respond to the heater control.
No air con system in the car. But has dual zone heater control. These both work independently via windscreen. Floor. And Center dash vents yet still the Center vents blow cold all the time.
Also they don't want to close completely. The roller switch meets with a lot of resistance when almost closed and just doesn't feel as happy being adjusted as the outer vent ones

I am guessing something is either loose jammed or snapped inside.
However there is always hope it is something silly like a fuse or whatever.
In hope there is an easy fix. I hereby submit this issue to you guys who will no doubt know a damn sight more than me lol.

Cheers
Dan

Lmao. I did have that thought earlier while in the car.
But thought it couldn't be as I could see no benefit from it.
Especially in this current weather lol.

Oh well. I'm sure there must be a reason. But thanks for that black.

Should anyone know the reason I'd love to be enlightened :0)

I think the idea is that you can have a warm car + fresh air to the face to reduce drowsiness. We had an E28 BMW that was just the same. Interestingly on our S124 when the A/C is set to permanent on ,as it is now in rain soaked Italy, warm air comes out of the centre vents!

Thank gp. That does make sense.
Although other cars I've owned had a switch to go between warm or fresh air.
Seems strange mb would take the option away from you in a luxury car.

Nevermind though. Shall just have to get used to it.

You can adjust the opening/ closing range with the small allen key in the right hand centre vent- look through with a torch, its probably been tightened too much..
