W124 washer bottle warning light

A real serious problem this I don't think my low washer bottle warning light is working.

It doesn't come on when you first switch on, and the handbook says it should.......? Is it likely to be the lamp, or might it be something else?

The sender unit is a float based thingy item 5 here. http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...+++717.412&CT=F&cat=15U&SID=86&SGR=030&SGN=01 Have a look at it- by fiddling the connections you can test the bulb.

Shouldn't the lamp come on anyway, when you start up? Does the fact it doesn't mean the lamp is out?
