W163 heated seat switch flashing

Can anyone give me some info on what the fault could be when the heated seat switch flashes when turned on and some info on how to test.

I think the flashing indicates a fault. Ours used to do this when it was very cold... i simply pressed it again and it would behave.

I thought flashing light meant battery voltage was low.

Does it stop flashing after a few miles of driving?
Do other consumables work? e.g. heated rear screen?

I have tested heated rear screen and it is working fine, If i turn heated seat's on the switch will flash for 30sec then go's off, You can turn it back on but will flash for 30sec then go off. Battery voltage is 14.2 with engine running. Heated seat fuse is ok, could it be a control unit or a relay !.
