My W202 C280 Sport has traction control.. how do I turn it off? I was thinking like my old BMW E39.. you cant turn it off.. I cant see any switches anywhere..

Mine has an 'ASR' button on the dash - you'll get an orange triangle light on the console reminding you that you're in 'chariot of death' mode :D

That'd be good.. if I had one!

I just checked.. no ASR switch... Got headrest one, central locking and hazard switch only.. :(

Have you got traction control on a '94 W202?

Will

Is there a gap where it's missing, or is it just not an option? If not then there might be a way of turning it through the console?

How come you want to turn it off? Have people beeen asking for a few too many lifts lately??

then you do not have it. neither do you have the interior motion sensor control. They should both be there 5 buttons.

I've only got three buttons, none missing.. I just wanted to know how to turn it off.. it does seem like I have it though.. tyres wouldnt even spin up in the rain.. This is on a 5 speed manual, not an autobox..

Its no big deal.. just curious.. :)

I dont have it on mine, and mine never spins - well except once on gravel by accident. These are fairly heavy cars. The traction control would mainly benefit corners etc I think.

Mine is a 5spd manual also, and will certainly spin in the rain! ASR cuts in straight away though and corrects it

Do you have anything flash on the dashboard when you're giving it the beans? If not its probably not an option on your model...

I've only had it cut in a few times without consciously messing about trying to skid (empty field at an exhibition last weekend  ). As said it's a heavy car and pretty sturdy so you should be alright!

Very rarely you get ASR on pre facelift cars. If you want to test if you have it or not try taking a sharp corner at 30 and then press the accelerator while you exiting the corner (Summer rain is ideal to test it out). Not for the faint hartred though and not sure about the legality either.

Yes guys..

I've had the Jap RWD Tubbies.. MR2, 200SX.. Impreza WRX.. and my old BMW E36..

I know what to expect.. the Mercedes just wont let me be a hooligan..

Its cool anyway.. I didnt buy it for that.. I bought it so I could have a bit of class and be comfy!

Yep, found out now.. car has no traction control..

Driving to partners house last night, pouring down rain, just getting dark.. no one around and the devil horns popped out the top of my head, planted accelerator, 2nd gear very wet roundabout.. slides out lovely.. easily controllable.. its like everything in slow motion with a bigger car!

I just unplugged ABS module. No ABS but also no Traction and Stability control
