Hoping you people can help me again please?
I'm attempting to fit a RightClick alarm to my 1996 C180 estate as the old alarm system has expired!
The instructions with the alarm are a bit vague (to say the least!) but I have managed to get it all fitted except the central locking lock/unlock part.
Basically I need to find out the colours of the lock and unlock wires, some info I have had says that it reverses polarity on a single wire and others say there should be black (lock) and blue (unlock) wires behind the drivers side kick panel - there is neither! :dk:
Just wondered if anybody had fitted an aftermarket alarm and could enlighten me please?
Any help would be appreciated - it's doing my tree in!!! :thumb:

i sorta watched the man fit min on my 1994 c180
and i think he linked mine into some wires that run down the drivers side!
i will have a look in the morning iff you dont have any other replys
do you have air locks or electric??

i think it must be vaccum i think facelift's have electric!
in wich case you could look at the vaccum pump in the boot
see what wires go in there
i think one of mine was gray!
not 100% tho

Hi,
Thanks for the replies!

It is vacuum central locking with the pump in the boot and (thanks for the link Alexander - that's the same info I keep finding!) there are 2 block terminals on the pump with 3 and 7 wires. I've probed them all with a multimeter whilst locking and unlocking the cars and all but 2 show a different voltage whilst locking/unlocking! There is no blue wire to the pump (as in the info) but there is a blue one with a red tracer.

C230kompressor, I was told to cut into the black/blue wire behind the drivers kick panel which I did but it doesn't work! When I rang them up again they told me to probe the wires in the pump and wire it up a totally different way - but i can't find these wires either................:wallbash:
You'd be an absolute star if you could possibly let me know the colour of the wires that your alarm man cut into behind the kick panel!

Cheers! :thumb:

Hi C230kompressor,

Thanks a million!

Just a quick question - are these wires under the carpet or behind the drivers kick panel? If there're under the carpet then I've been looking in the wrong place!!

Thanks again :thumb:

Jacqui.

pull the sill kick plate up and open the plastic sections!
sorta beside the carpit! the blue one might still run up throught the kick pannel!

Thanks again! You're an absolute star! :thumb:

post again if you have any other problems!
as i have a 1996 kompressor i can check the wireing on the pump! as its the same year!!
but it does have and original mb alarm!

I will - thank you!
I won't get another chance to look at the car until the weekend because it's dark by the time I get home and I'm (supposedly!) at work at the moment! :D
