Hi guys.

i have replaced MAF and Lambda sensor with bosch units but when i start first time of the it cuts out a few times and it sounds like its misfiring. temperature sensor? crank sensor?

but once its warm it ok, but gear changes are erratic. am at wits end here.
Gearbox oil levels?

Any idea what it could be. could it be cat convertor as i have smell of rotten eggs/ammonia after flooring it.

also can someone tell me what problems can the brake light switch causes?

My local garage won't undertake changing my manifold, stating that incase bolts break/shear off. Also find it quite hard to find brand new exhaust manifold.

If you don't mind the drive mate there is a place near Norwich that will do it and works on Merc 's

I had a faulty rear brake light on one of my cars and the cruise would not engage. The auto electrician said a faulty brake light switch can cause the same issue. Car thinks the brakes are on and won't engage, logical enough!

I think I've got same problem as funga. Let us know what it was if you sort yours out. On fault reader my is coming up with coolan temp. Sensor error, I've changed the sensor but it won't clear error so I wonder if it can be something to do with thermostat? Did you check yours on scanner?

I think Dieselman talking about intake manifold leak rather than exhaust Am I right?

I thought it could be also something to do with crankcase breather?

Get the codes read first and work from there.

The maf commonly causes this when cold for the first couple of minutes
