Hello,
I’ve been looking at spacers to bring the rim out to the arch on the back. Bring the wheel flush with the arch like the picture.

The wheels I have are 8.5J wide offset 35. Is it just a case of measuring from the rim to the arch or does any know what size spacer I should be looking for?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm looking into doing this too with 8.5j and I'm looking at doing the same as you. What size tyre are you running? I'm putting 235 all round with roughly a 20mm spacer on the back

Yes because your not looking at offset suitability for calliper clearance and alike.

Word of warning though...
1: Be sure the spacers are hub-centric
2: Depending on the thickness of the spacer you will need longer studs, you really need to factor this in to what's available in stud length and intended spacer thickness.
3: Remember the wheels camber position and the fact it has an upward arc.

Eibach suspension do a good line of hub-centric spacers

Currently 225, yeah I was thinking 20-25mm. 8.5J fit perfectly on the front, 235 tyres might catch the arch i've heard. I've a picture somewhere.

Thanks for the help. I've was looking at some Eibach spacers on eBay. There nearly £100 without the extra long bolts, wasn’t planning on spending that really. I’ve seen some cheaper but they look poor quality and no lip for the hub. I’d rather get the better quality ones or none.

.

If their not hub-centric you will be in a whole world of hurt. I really want to stress these hold the wheel central so without hub-centric spacers you will have vibration and worst case even lose a wheel.

sound advice, especially as its rear wheel drive

Thanks for the advice, will be getting hub-centric.
I think the car in the picture hasn't any spacers, 10J rears but I couldn't find any details. I can't see many 25mm spacers listed for sale, so thinking 20mm will be the best option?

You can calculate what size spacers would be ideal using this calculator.

Wheel / tire size calculator / comparer - RIMSnTIRES.com

Remember though if you're making the wheels flush with the arch, you will most likely need to roll the inside lip flat depending on how low you are for clearance.

And if you're going for that look, you'll probably want the lowest profile tyre available and/or slightly stretched tyres as above.

i think this proves it... Mercedes look better with OEM kit IMO though
