W202 - Wiper Stops In Middle!

Hey

Have a window wiper problem.. when in use its perfect travels the full distance right down at both sides, when I flick it off it stops right in the middle of my view!

Why is it doing this? Highly annoying!

The park position needs re setting, probably nut 1 Or Nut 2 has become loose
You will have to remove the mechanism to correct the problem.

Lubricate the hub mechanism while you are at it

I think it is quite a common thing on 202's, mine had it aswell, was most annoying! But a lubrication was all it needed and it was all well again!

In view of what gina just said it might be wise to lubricate the mechanism first, then if there is no change in your problem the park position is the most likely cause.

I had the same problem but it was more than greasing needed - it parked in the middle of the screen because something had slipped on the motor.

Result - £75 off Ebay from a local scrappy gave me a whole new mechanism including linkage. 20 mins to fit - easy!! These Mercs are so well designed

Re-adjusting the park position can sort this problem out Lee, theres a how to guide to do so as well.
