if anyone could help would be great :dk:
i got home and was hearing this loud pisss pisss pisss noise when ticking over . i took the engine cover off and started it up again ,it was loud, i could feel the air coming from the back injector the car has covered over 180.000 miles and was wondering if the o-rings have gone and if there easy to do myself or a garage job ?

if i can pick anyones brains please help
thanks dan

sounds all to comon injector bottom copper washer leaking,as to weather you can do it yourself . is there a large biuld up of carbon round injector.?
there is a few things to watch .the injectors are sometimes very stuck in place by the carbon and take some getting out ,and some times the injector clamp bolt ,pulls the thread out of the head ,if the thread is not cleaned out fully

garage job then . thanks for your reply do you no if i have to get the copper washer from mercedes or euro car parts etc ?

If you're DIYing, you need to get a new clamp, clamp bolt, copper washer and special ceramic grease from Mercedes. The grease is about £15 a tub and will allow you to fix many injectors. The other parts are inexpensive. If the injector comes out with no problem, it's an easy job for an experienced mechanic.

It's essential to clean the injector bore and clamp bolt hole out really well, to take great care of the injector tip, and to correctly torque the new clamp bolt. On my engine, the bolt should be torqued to 7Nm, then further tightened through two 90° angles — your engine may differ. Post back here if you want to go ahead yourself, and I (or someone else) should be able to supply instructions and part numbers.

If you're not confident in your abilities, I'd entrust this to your local Mercedes specialist who will have done many. Get it done before it gunges up: the gas coming out is combustion gases, not just air. If you don't sort it, it will eventually develop into this mess, which is why it's called "black death":

...............I sell a kit with bolts grease and washers for little money.

Don't forget to re-cut the injector seat otherwise it will leak again.

i took all this on board and got the bits for nothing all the greese etc seeing as my company use mercedes and i got it off the mechanic :) and all is good no leaks as of yet
thanks
