hi im new to this and looking for help !
i recently bought a 2001 (x) c240 sport auto with 66000 miles and fsh, it appears to have developed some faults in the last month and im looking for some advice!
on start up from cold the brakes are near useless it only lasts for the first couple of pushes on the pedal then clears for the rest of the day -
also when cold it is very "sluggish" and struggles to go through the auto box again this clears once the engine is warm-
problem 3 when its hot it stalls not all the time just the odd time, once restarted its fine-
i have had the engine management light on twice the first time i had the faults read it pointed to a lambda sensor having been faulty in the past but not at the time of reading, the second time the light went off on the way to get the fault read so i didnt bother !! ive changed the plugs and leads but i doesnt seam to have helped !!
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks andy :wallbash:

The sluggish gear change when cold is normal, this enables the cat to heat up to operating temp and reduce emissions. As for the stalling try disconnecting the plug on the Mass Airflow Meter, if this cures the stalling then change the MAF. Sorry can't help with the brake problems, could just be the pad material is very hard.

Thanks for the info i have just tried disconnecting the plug and it stalled again and brought the engine management light on !!
when i was looking at the maf i noticed a black pipe very close to it that had been taped to the connection at the engine end any ideas what this pipe is as it moves out of the taped connection very easily

The pipe was something to do with the brake system it went off to the brake vacuum i believe! The problems have lessened since, I only have random poor tick over and stalling at the lights now !!
