Hi,

Just retrofitted COMAND 2.0 to my 2001 C320, all works well etc etc, but is there a way to mute the annoying direction voice, so it just gives a visual indication instead? I know you can turn it down, but it still fades the radio when giving directions, I just want to turn it off...

Any clues anyone?

I've just retrofitted COMAND too, so am also learning my way around it.
Found you can alter the volume level relative to the radio/CD. Having it at a lower level may help. Don't ask me how I found it, it's burried somewhere in the "System" menu.

if you press the mute button during the voice announcements it mute the current voice, however you will have to do it every time you get a new directional message.

If you push and hold the mute then it mute permanently (atg least until you turn it back on by pressing the last direction button) (works in cmd 2.5 so i assume yours too)

Thanks I will try this......I find the system quite annoying compared to the Navtech system in my BMW. It's direction messages seem to go on for ages, and it says silly things like "Carry on down this road....until I tell you otherwise...."

But on the plus side, it does reroute very quickly if you take a different road or turning.

I knew you could mute the individual navigation announcements but I didn't know you could mute them all, I will try this later :)

Some of my favourites are "prepare to keep straight on" and "bear second left" :)

Ok, the mute feature works really well, just what I was looking for. Thanks :-)

not sure how much help this is. but on mine COMAND you can only adjust the volume of the sat nav interference/radio sound reduction providing you have not set the navigation route guidence. i think you go into the settings option to do it. then you can allow full radio/cd etc volume then either the mute option above or turn the volume down while she talks. this way the radio etc stays on but she goes off.

altho i shall try this and see if i can be more prescriptive. mind you, its a different model too so i may be of no help at all.

Works for me too, tested it last night and used it this morning :)
