Hi Thinking of tinting the rear two windows and the rear screen, does anyone know if tinting the rear window can effect the Radio/and ultrasonic remote access amplifier/aerial housed in and around the rear screen.

Thanks

Martin

I had tinting done on a previous car with no detrimental effects on the radio or central locking performance. The aerials were under the tint film and were not affected.

Each to his own I suppose, but I really think you shouldn't do this to a merc, makes it look a bit too max power IMO. The thing about a merc is it's got class so you should keep it that way.

Only my opinion :)

I've had mine done (B pillar back) on our W203, no problems with radio performance, heated rear window or lock / unlock range. Pleased with the look and no issues at all :D

What about factory fit privacy glass? Same look just more expensive

My car does have the Panoramic roof which is tinted i only wish to install a very light tint, not a Limo black style, however the process they use is it installed on the inside? or on the outside, has anyone had it retro fitted, and how does it look? can it be distinguished as a retrofit? is it easy to do yourself, if you have the right tools etc and a mechanical aptitude?

thanks

Martin

Yeah I suppose if it's a light tint then it'll look quite good. Whenever I hear about tinted windows I just get this picture in my mind of a Golf with pitch black windows and a baked bean can exhaust :D

ive got a light smoke tint on mine, had it for the last 6 years, and in no way does it look "Max powerish". go to www.pentagonglasstech.com/window-tinting.php , not a single max power car......
