W203 Estate - Ghost in the machine

Maybe not a ghost, but something very peculiar.

I've had my W203 face-lift c220 cdi Estate for a few months now and have noticed the drivers side temperature control adjusts itself. Sounds mad and the first time it happened, I thought I had knocked it by accident. I always have it set to 20c, but now it's happened five or six times where I've been a bit chilly, looked down and the control has turned round to the left by itself. Before I go mad, has anyone else experienced this 'feature' or got a possible explanation. Thanks.

If it's the rotary knob then I'm afraid you are going mad! It's not motorised so can't adjust itself.

Perhaps a passenger (your missus?) is adjusting it, not realising that she has her own?

Simple fix for this.
Pull off the knob and check for tiny hamsters inside.
