Hi Guys,
Had my C230K serviced last Monday, (A service 75000 miles - 824 sobs - ).
They replaced the fuel filter, discs, pads etc.
Tuesday PM after running for about 20 minutes, stopped at traffic lights and this high pitched whining starts. I revved the engine in neutral, and it goes away then comes back - like a rattle or vibration - possibly a heat plate or brake pad backplate. Anyway, it doesn't do it all the time but has started doing it at say 30-40mph. Will get the dealer to look at it asap, but last night, when I went to start it, as soon as I turned the key before the engine started, there was the noise briefly - during what I presume is the fuel system priming action - and then it continued when the engine which was warm started.
I reckon it is the fuel pump, but is this related to the fuel filter change - is the fuel filter located on the pump or elsewhere?. Presumably this is covered under warranty?
Any suggestions would be apreciated.

The fuel pump and filter are under the car near the back wheel. It sounds like the pump may be rubbing something.

I agree with Dieselman sounds like when they replaced the cover (shield) after changing the filter they've got something rubbing on the pump

Thanks Guys,
will bear this in mind when I speak to the stealers..
