Hi All,

My car is factory fitted with COMAND. Since it was new, the sat nav has on three occassions shown my current position on the screen to be running parallel with my actual position. On the previous two times it did this, it showed me driving a few streets away from where I was but yesterday, it was showing me about three miles away, driving over fields etc! This lasted the entire days use. I'm hoping when I get in today it will be working again.

Anyone got any ideas why this is happening? I never experienced anything like this with removable units.

It is very annoying to have a £2k option fitted to the car and yet I still have to carry an A-Z 'just in case' as it has failed to rise from the dash on more than one occassion as well.

There is (last month from memory) a new set of firmware for W204 - i'd take it to the dealer and suggest they install the latest firmware from last month to see if it fixes it..

I assume its all under warranty

It's not unknown. It has happened to my COMAND 2.0 on a handful of occasions.

On about half, maybe a little more of the times it happened, the journey started with the car a fair way off a road known to COMAND, such as in a big car park or the middle of a field. This seemed to confuse it and it behaved exactly as you described, taking an age to find the correct position even when on a motorway.

Hi

Did the firmware update fix this issue?
I've got the same issue on my W204, but only seem to happen after the map update to V7.
The current position is either too far ahead or mostly behind.
Or on some occasions totally diffrent location!

Have tried restarting from the engineering menu and from system, but still having the issue.

Would be great to know if fireware fix this issue.

Thanks
