No need for PDF...job is quite simple but a bit cold in winter! Raise boot door...carefully pull lower inner door trim directly away from boot door frame (they use 9 clips around edge and a couple centrally located...( if the plastic clips break, they did not for me, you can buy replacements for about £2 each (9 as I say are used)...trim will fall on your foot unless you have three hands...locate bulb unit on inside. Using your smallest hand and with neck strained at silly angle, twist bulb socket 90 degrees anticlockwise and pull out past the impossibly small gap between door frame and bulb unit...you will probably bust the glass unit locators, I did, but this can be located with silicone mastic after changing the bulb...not like MB quoted, and not like Halfords either...small push fit tungsten bulb in spare bulb kit. Just go and get the right one when you know the correct item. Reassemble with similar contortions and split nails etc...I used normal pliers to twist bulb holder out and back into bulb unit. Carefully locate trim clips into door holes and bang all home, hoping not to break any in so doing...may need to pull off again and repeat until trim located correctly. What a beast this job is...MB using a cynical fiddly and unnecessary complex design or just plain design ineptitude so that their distributors can charge £124 for about an hour's work rather than a two minute FOC bulb replacement...a child could design an externally accessible bulb housing better than MB here...thats why I hate mercedes and would never buy another one! Good luck...and you do NOT need to get MB to do this simple job, but you do have to do it from inside the car. VW are just as bad...take bumper completely off to replace a headlight bulb!!! back or what?
