W205 Ordered Today

Is there a separate Adblue tank in the boot on these diesels?

Just wondering if I've dodged a bullet on this but I fear that I'll be coughing up for the additive a fair bit doing 25-30k miles a year.

yes adblue separate:eek:
behind flap with diesel cap

bugger. Didn't realise this was coming until my mate told me about it as he'd heard it on a conference last week.

Filling up a tank with synthetically manufactured pig urine to help the environment - got to love the hippy scientists.

Thanks for confirming :)

How are people finding these for discounts? I've done a few quotes on the S205 C250 CDI AMG Line Premium Plus with a few bits and bobs (metallic + £3k worth of options) - 15% off is the best quote so far, which I don't think is too bad for such a new model?

So, took a final drive in the Audi today (to the car wash) and it's sat on the drive waiting to be switched over tomorrow.

My new C is coming on a trailer from Essex so should be with me around lunchtime! The countdown is well and truly on my friends.

So the new motor arrived at about 09.15 today (a few hours ahead of schedule), sitting pretty on a trailer pulled by a decent sized 4x4.

Got it down, parked up, my A6 checked over and then that soon took its place on the trailer.

After the delivery chap had left (lovely bloke and we had a natter over a cup of tea) I set about for a short few mile jaunt down the local roads to get a feel for it.

First impressions:
* It feels a fair bit smaller than my A6 but that's no bad thing at all
* Certainly lighter and far more agile / nimble through the corners and around roundabouts (of which there are many in Swindon)
* Picks up very well off the lights, even from just lifting my foot off the brake pedal, there's no lag and then slow haul as with the A6
* Seats are comfortable and the driving position is good although I'd like a little more adjustment options for the steering wheel
* Good chunky wheel with buttons that are easily accessible
* New style handbrake a vast improvement over the old foot brake (and doesn't sound like it's going to snap every time I use it)

Other points
* 4 pot engine of course doesn't sound as silky smooth as my old V6 diesel but it is an improvement on the C220 W204 I had for a while last year
* The throttle response seems rather fidgety but that will probably just be me getting used to the set up at the moment
* The steering is very direct, only minor turns required to point in the right direction - again, just needs a bit of getting used to.
* The touchpad works better than I thought and I can see me using it perhaps more than the wheel
* The one SD card slot contains the Garmin nav info so I'll need to pop down to the supermarket and pick up a cheap USB stick for the juke box

Will have another drive later and try to post a few pics (boring car though - not optioned up like the rest of them on here).

Good first impressions though. Must dash - got a teleconference now...

I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions :)

My 205 is due 20th December or thereabouts and I'm going from an A4. I do have a few toys in mine and am starting to get nervous about the sunroof rattling - I've seen this mentioned a few times on here. I didn't overly want a sunroof but I did want Burmeister and the updated Command system so I just went with the premium plus pack as it gave a bunch of other stuff too for not much more money..... One of those was the sunroof which I live in hope will be nice as opposed to 'why did I do that'? :)

Just ordered my W205 C220 AMG LINE :D

Went for Obsidian black, black leather and 7 speed auto. Can't wait for delivery in March. Gonna be a long wait!! My first MB so looking forward to it.

Having had two trips to Southampton this week I've put a few hundred miles on the new motor so I've had chance to formulate a few more opinions on the kit...

I must admit the first couple of drives left me wondering if I'd picked the right set up as it felt quite wallowy compared to my old A6. The few motorway and dual carriageway trips soon helped showcase just how good this car is at munching the miles with effortless style.

The entertainment system (Audio 20) is just in a different league to the Audi system and just the ability to search for different artists / tracks / playlists makes it far easier to use on the move.

The reversing camera is handy and gives two clear images (one slightly wider angle than the other) so less chance for mishaps with posts or higher kerbs.

The headlights are superb (LED but not the intelligent system) and the DRLs look cool too :)

Only two real gripes so far... The first is the intelligent braking system, the red warning triangle seems to be permanently on when driving down the M4 and A34 thanks to the state of the driving and people filling any gaps left for braking space. The second is the interchangeable set up for engine and throttle response. The Eco and Comfort settings are great for the vast majority of driving I seem to have done so far but thought I'd put it in Sport+ for part of my drive home tonight. Hmmmm I thought someone had dropped a kangaroo in the engine bay. The engine, gearbox and throttle seem to drop out of synch and it just felt like a twitchy angry mess of a mode. Maybe more practice required or just select it when I'm on the traffic light Grand Prix.

Slick and smooth driving style really seems to be rewarded in this motor and the 250 engine just pulls well without any fuss.

I ordered a pre-built C250 AMG Line Estate with Premium Plus Pack in Tenorite Grey on Friday, and it should be delivered next Friday, all things being well.

Never owned a Mercedes before, but as a cost-cutting exercise from a Landrover, it looked like a lovely car for the money.

Are there any detailed reviews on here of people with similar cars?

I ordered a W205 last week.
The car is yet to be built but is still showing for an end of March delivery.

Coming from a 2012 W204 C180 Sport I've gone for the following;
C200 Petrol Auto
AMG Line
Palladium Silver
Completely standard.

I had asked for Black Ash trim, as I'm worried about the durability of the Piano black centre console. As the car is already assigned for production, but not yet built we are awaiting a email from the factory to identify if it can be added.
I only really want to change the centre console and not the silver door trims, so I may enquire about just purchasing a Black Ash centre console as a spare part.

I tried to order last July for a September delivery, but availability and discounts were shocking at the time.

Sounds nice.

How willing are the dealers to offer a discount now?

I would say the same amount of discount was available as when I purchased my C180 in 2012.

There is now a min £3500 dealer contribution if you take out the finance.
So I took the min amount of finance, which I will pay off in 6 months (min term)

Both dealers I talked to were prepared to negotiate. In both cases they would only offer discounts if I took a March delivery, and not one from existing stock which was surprising. I presume they have harder targets to meet in March

It was nearly £5,000 discount for me on finance... and that was on a car that is already in stock at another dealer, that'll be here on Friday.

Anyone here have the W205 in the following exterior options:

Diamond white
Privacy glass
AMG 19" alloys

If you do, can you post some pictures up please? Side profile for the wheels and also to assess how dark the privacy glass is...

I'm going to order in the next month and wanted to see how these options look in the metal rather than on the online rendering.

Thank you!

Since the ash trim comes with a clock you will need to order and wire this separately - looks like a lot of trouble. Another option would be to get the centre console wrapped in matt ash wood trim. Not seen this before and it won't be stock but most likely the cheaper option.

Some of the guys over on the JagInfo.org forum have had very good results in getting interior trim plastidipped by Garnish - Its all in the finish. So that might be an option.

Note: I have no affiliation with them, nor have I used their service, so can't vouch directly for the quality.

Thats strange, as the MBUK website indicates that Black Ash is a £195 option with no mention of the clock anywhere on the option list.
