Gents, I wonder if anyone can help here. The battery has disconnected and therefore wont open the boot. A Green Flag guy attached a powerpack to the car under the bonnet and although it operated the central locking, it wouldn't release the boot. The supplied keys wouldn't go in at first however after a gallon of wd 40, I managed to get them in but will not work. The key rotates 360 degrees without releasing. Finally, I cannot get at the lock through the back seats as it is double skinned with all the roof gubbins in the way.
The locksmith has just had a look and his opinion is that he will have to drill the lock.
Anyone able to suggest a way to get the boot open? If there is no alternative, can someone recommend a place to get a used boot lock as the dealer will want stupid money, most likely.
I'm pulling my hair out here......:(

Hit the lock very hard with a drift. This will push the lock inside and allow you to open it. You will need a new lock after.

I had a similar issue when my boot wouldn't open due to a blown fuse and the lock was seized.

I used the following guide from Speedybiker. Works a treat.

Take the first aid kit out.
You will have an opening and your hand should fit through this.
You will feel a cable on either side, this is the cable that unlatches the rear seats.
Next I got a piece of long 1x1 piece of wood, cut a V at one end.
Now get the V on the cable and push downwards, you have to push quiet hard.

You will hear the latch release and the rear seat should be free to open inwards.

Once you have done this it will give you access to the boot.
There are 4 bolts holding the lock in place undo these and the boot will open.

Next spend a couple of days freeing the lock with WD40.

It's a pita but works.

EDIT: the above applies to a coupe, I'm assuming yours is a cabrio as you mention "roof gubbins" in which case the above is probably of no help, sorry.
