W208 CLK Sat Nav

Hi All,

Recently purchased my car and the Command Sat Nav does not work and says no disc. How do I know which disc to get as I see APC and Tele-Atlas ones avaliable but don't know which system mine is

Speak to Richard or Mark at Mercedes Retrofit Specialist - Comand.co.uk

No more updates are being done for the comand 2.0 so it's possible they have some deals on the final update disc.

There is a 2013/2014 DX cd out.

there are some on ebay also. Might be worth getting an older CD as you currently do not know how much of your comand works.

picked up a 2004 DX Teleatlas Disc so see if it works, when it arrives

Disc not arrived yet, but last night went into diagnostics mode and car not picking up any satellites, so will need to investigate that.

On the plus side I did fix my non dropping rear headrests and non popping boot. Turned out the hose to the boot lock was not connected

Will the disc even though it looks origional does not work, it get an error message so do not know if its the unit or the disc. (basically its a read error). Also noticed that the Command cannot find any satellites anyway. The screen also has lines across the bottom sections which isn't too noticeable.

Now I am thinking to I just buy a replacement unit or change it for and aftermarket double din unit with sat nav.

Junk it and put in an after market unit, Command was outdated and useless the day it went in, there are some great double din units now that will do what command will for a fraction of the price and look much better too. I junked command out of mine when I first bought it and went back to single DIN but now might go back to double din now the units have improved so much.

That's what I was thinking, I don't have any CD's in my Boot changer as all my music is now in digital format. Will look for a nice Bluetooth,Navigation TV one

Depends on the year of the CLK.

If you have a facelifted W208 (with steering wheel controls) then the following units are ideal;

A208 820 44 89
A208 820 40 89
A210 820 56 89
A210 820 54 89

You will need a loom convert at circa £50, GPS antenna and a map disk.

Installation is straight forward.

Yes there are better performing non MB units out there but none that fully integrate with the instrument cluster, work fully with steering wheel controls or look exacly like the car had the unit from the factory.
