W208 CLK55 AMG CAbriolet,03REG!?

Beautiful .

Looks more Mocha Brown though , what does the VIN say about the colour ?

Sean , that's got your name written all over it ;)

Special order it may be, its still an old model? at top money?

Its also a very limited market for people wanting that shape car in the colour combination. Rare doesn't automatically mean its worth paying for.

I still agree its nice but if you were to use it then on 50K say after a year its realy going to hurt the value.

True. Rare does not mean valuable.

It is very niche. Would only buy it because I love it, not because of any sort of "investment". And would use it, it's not going to be a garage queen.

The likelyhood of finding another in the forseable future is remote , but with that mileage, colour, its a one off.

He may even budge from the asking price, credit crunch & all that!

Yes, it is definitely a one off. I never pay asking price :)

i'd opt for the 208 shape over the 209 personally as they are all old now so i'd prefer the classic one, rather than the one that wont be a classic (sorry if that offends anyone!!)

the headrests are fine by the way (as far as i can see).... they are just adjusted to their highest point

I prefer 208 to 209 too.

Rear headrests just need to come down .. there is separate switch for it.

Designo Mystic Red, I think.

It's "colour to sample", so not a designo. Anyhow, it's more chocolatey/brown

I am considering (seriously) having my name on it :)

I had the 208 CLK 320 convertible, and I loved it. Solid, fast, stable and handled well too. The 55 should be amazing.

This car was at BCA Blackbushe last week and was also listed as a 430.

Do you know what it sold for?

I'll buy it off you in three years time Sean , make sure you keep it nice ;)

It sold less than 7 days ago for £10900. he is having a laugh with the price.

You beat me to it! TBH I dismissed it as a fake 55 due to the unusual colour combination and the 03 reg. For me it didn't look special enough, and did actually look like a 430. However you all know what the poor lighting can do to the eyes at BB.

Offer 12k....

I doubt he will take that at this point as he is obviously thinks he has something worth a 6K profit.

If you are really after it, 13-14K should be a realistic figure as im sure has had to do a certain amount of prep...

I don't have time to go see it for another fortnight, so I may be too late ..

if not sold by then, they may be more eager to do a deal

p.s. looking at the photos the leather looks like a fairly recent retrim?

Its the same garage that had the 20k 96 s500 coupe last year. All prices are usually way over the top.

Its just down the road from me if you want further pictures. However the fact that I dissmissed it last week as a fake may just put you off !!!

Lads, with this being a six year old car,& with only 30k miles on the clock, how many service stamps should really be in the book for it to be a full/good service history?

With it last being serviced in 2006, I would be looking for all of its mot certificates to be present for a guaranteed mileage...I think it should have 3/4. Without those there would be scope for a haircut, I would have thought....

Thanks for the offer.

Have to see the car in the flesh as so much of the appeal is the colour combination.

I want it! Its gorgeous.

Would have to check the authenticity of it though as the trim is like nothing i've ever seen on a W208.
