W210 climate control panel

Is it possible to replace the display back light bulbs on the climate control panel on a w210 (2000) model .

Yes it is. It should two small slots (one either side) you can buy a set of keys from your local stealer, these are the same as the becker radio keys. This will allow you to remove the control panel the bulb is fitted in the middle of the bottom of the unit. 2 minute job and the bulb is a few pence.

Thanks for that,I have set of radio removal keys I will take it out and replace the bulbs,it's real pain not being able to see the display on a dark morning !

What type bulb is it? Mine is out as well.

Ive changed these bulbs before quite a few times but just remember what type. I do remember at time not being able to find the bulb anywhere, so had to get it from the dealers anyway.

I just changed the bulb on the bottom of the climate control unit in my W210, i can see that the light is lighting up fine from the bottom of the unit, but its still not lighting the back display....

What could possibly be wrong?

The bulb type is EB 286 12v 1.2w. Readily available on the 'Bay of cheap 'n cheerful.
