W210 Command...a few questions.

New to Mercedes, so be gentle with me!!

I've just bought a 2000 E430 Avantagarde Estate which has the Command unit and 10 CD changer.

I've searched but got no real answers as to whether I can connect my I pod to it. Is there an Aux in point anywhere?

Whilst on here, it has the TV button, but when pressed it says "no TV". Was this another option that had to be added, or do I need s specific disc in the unit?

And lastly, where is the best place to get the most up to date UK Nav disc for this unit.

Hi, your comand did not come with the factory tv tuner hence it says "No TV".

In order to add a TV tuner, DVD or ipod etc you need one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MULTIMEDIA-IN...S_Accessories_Software_ET&hash=item414f4ef1b6 this should sort out your requirement.

AUX in point should be in the glovebox on the right had side at the back.

So I if have the Aux input, will it just be a case of buying a lead and plugging it in? Or does the Command unit need something doing/added to it as well?

If you have AUX then all you need is a 3.5mm male to male jack lead. Plug it in and select AUX on the comand.

Is that the only option to use command and stering controls in full way?

Aux input will not let you control the ipod via sterering controls. Nor will it display track names or charge the ipod.

+1 for Dension gateway. Works a treat with the comand 2.
