Bosch plugs are £4.50 each and the Mb labour time to fit is 2 hours.

MB plugs are 7.50.

We charge 1.5 hours for all 16 plugs.

Wishbones plus a couple of other things in that region that are cheap to do once the labour has been done.
Disks
Pads
Full service with plugs

Things that I am having a think about and am not doing for the mo...Any suggestions or second hand parts or cost reduction ideas on these I would like to hear
Air Con Pump £700...it works so will leave until it fails
Exhaust Centre box is in one piece just but is leaking a little.What are my upgrade / performance options here?

Any comments welcome...All this lot does not appear overly cheap but there is a sense of satisfaction knowing it will have had all new stuff fitted by my indy who really do care about their work.

I had an exhaust speciallist chop the centre box out. It leaves 4x cat's (two in each downpipe) and the stainless AMG backbox. Makes it sound much better, probably very minimal performance boost if any. But it is about 17Kg lighter

Another option would be to get the cat's replaced with straight pipe. They can be done in such a manner that come MOT time you can put them back in.

cutting out the centre box is the best thing you can do for the V8, it sounds 100x better and it isn't obtrusive in any way.

I think thats good advice on the exhaust.

Sounds like you are spending a fair bit to put it right - best way as you say.

You bin the middle box and connect the ends with a pipe.

Your indy should know the answer - I've heard its cheap - defer to someone else on cost.

Removing that middle box is a good mod, and as it would not give any gains in performance it will make the car a touch lighter. You shouldn't even lose any backpressure that could redu e torque.

I amooking to do that on mine but looking at fitters as I would like to join the two pipes for some of the length as it helps gas flow from the two V8 banks. This might need to be done as continuing the single pipes simply, could increase drone in the cabin.

Just use an exhaust specialist, they shouldn't charge more then £100 no matter how good they are. They'll slice off your centre box and replace it with a pipe, 1 hours labour max + the part.

I don't think Olly has mobile service but if you end up going to his workshop then it would be worth it.

hes fitting my performance headers for my C55 AMG, I woudn't take it anywhere else.

Cats removed from mine - increase in low end throttle response - nicer engine note through the exhaust, but still nice & quite when just m/way cruising.

Not sure on mpg difference, not got trip comp on mine so can't tell.
